JPMorgan Chase has instituted compulsory fingerprint checks for employees entering its new $3 billion New York headquarters. The policy, initially planned as voluntary, now requires all 10,000 staff to register biometric data—including facial photographs, fingerprints, or iris scans—for building access. The shift replaces traditional ID badge swiping with biometric verification, marking a significant escalation in corporate security measures.

The Financial Times reports the bank communicated the mandate via internal email, framing it as a necessary security enhancement. While JPMorgan declined official comment, the MOVE follows heightened physical security concerns across Wall Street institutions. The Manhattan skyscraper's full occupancy later this year will make it one of the largest biometric-secured corporate facilities globally.
